Day 23 - Your favorite season and why


2010 – though 2012 was exciting as hell, 2010 was my favourite season because it was the last season when we saw real racing. The tires co-operated well, being Bridgestone, and allowed what fans wanted to see. It was also the last time when 3 drivers went into the finale, all having an equal chance at clinching the championship. It was the season when RedBull, the team which most of the paddock associated with a “carefree-party-team”, beat the mighty Ferrari and McLaren to be the best team on the grid. And since then, F1 has had a new member in the ‘top teams’ category. 
1976 and 1989 would also be one of my favorite seasons!

HAMILTON EDGES RICCIARDO TO POLE IN WET CONDITIONS Lewis Hamilton took pole position from Daniel Ricciardo in a nail-biting qualifying session at the season-opening Australian Grand Prix. Wet weather threw the pre-season form guide out the window, but Hamilton just managed to clinch pole from the resurgent Red Bull. Looking forward to 2015 - Driver line ups (part 1)

Mid season drama, or termed 'Silly season' in Formula One starts around the month of August and goes on pretty much until every move/decision has been leaked or confirmed by the drivers or personnel. This year however was very volatile. One one hand we had Fernando Alonso, dubbed as "the best driver in Formula One" by pretty much everybody. This Spaniard was tired of Ferrari's promises and looking for an exit somehow. And on the other we had the (back then) reigning world champion Sebastian Vettel, who had achieved all that he could in his time with Red Bull and every year ends up hearing the same news of him 'moving to Ferrari'. The chain of "who goes where" began with Vettel's sudden announcement during the 1st Practice session in Japan. However, until Austin, his whereabouts up and down the paddock was unconfirmed. F1 2017 testing - Barcelona Day 4

Stoffel Vandoorne and Max Verstappen exiting pitlane/Autosport  While Barcelona decided to start the day on a bright note with seemingly warmer temperatures, F1 scheduled the day for wet weather testing on artificially soaked track to try the wet weather tires manufactured by Pirelli for 2017. The day was planned in such a way that once watered in the morning, the track would gradually dry out by mid day to allow teams to run on both slicks and treaded tires. This will be repeated in the afternoon session to give teams a chance to try different programmes in wet conditions. Previously, the FIA had alotted a special wet weather testing session during the pre-season tests. However, this has been scrapped out this season and replaced with this particular format.
