Day 23 - Your favorite season and why


2010 – though 2012 was exciting as hell, 2010 was my favourite season because it was the last season when we saw real racing. The tires co-operated well, being Bridgestone, and allowed what fans wanted to see. It was also the last time when 3 drivers went into the finale, all having an equal chance at clinching the championship. It was the season when RedBull, the team which most of the paddock associated with a “carefree-party-team”, beat the mighty Ferrari and McLaren to be the best team on the grid. And since then, F1 has had a new member in the ‘top teams’ category. 
1976 and 1989 would also be one of my favorite seasons!

Breaking the media marshmallow code

It’s always great to have 2 races in 2 weeks. It keeps us on our feet! Literally. And if both the races are exciting, it’s a bigger bonus, because that’s what formula one needs and that’s what makes me write more. But before doing a review of both the races, which by the way was pre-planned, it wasn’t like I forgot about either one, I want to just voice my opinion on Sebastian Vettel’s exact words when he was asked about the new engine formula and it’s sounds-  “It’s shit”  Personally, even I’m one of those 83% who despises these changes and hoping for some sort of bright light of wisdom to hit the FIA delegates’ minds and they change all the rules. Although the same can’t be said about the drivers, who earlier criticised the engines (Bar the world champ) have turned tables, having gotten used to the new sounds. Jerez Testing

Author's note : Its a bit too late to post an article on Jerez tests, when the second test at Barcelona has already begun, but I think that's okay. And just to hint you: Jerez is pronounced 'Hur-ez', just a note cause I kept pronouncing it the wrong way (until I saw Ted Kravitz, from Sky F1 do the correct pronunciation) and happened to get embarrassed when I had to use that word in front of a crowd. Jerez Testing The first pre season testing just finished. And just like last year, Lotus, Ferrari, RedBull Racing, McLaren and Mercedes looked pretty good. In fact, include the Force India and the sauber who looked to be contending for the top 3 lap times. So, what exactly did happen the last time when many cars looked pretty quick? Oh yea, 7 different winners in 7 races from 5 different teams. There's nothing that stops it from happening again..
